Recent success stories
The gallery owners were thrilled to announce that ArtSpring artist and printmaker Antonia Enthoven has had work selected for not just one, but two major exhibitions in London: The Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition running from 4th14th July at Mall Galleries and the Royal Academy Summer exhibition, on now until 12 August.

Another recent London success for gallery member Mark Welland was when he received an Exhibition Excellence Award’ for his drawings selected for the Plantae – The Society of Botanical Artists Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in June.

Hildegard Pax, Chair of the gallery has not only had recognition in the UK but internationally as well, in Germany and the US. Her latest glass artwork will be on show at an art fair in The Hamptons, Long Island, USA from 5th8th July.

Artspring was one of five finalists in the recent Muddy Stiletto Awards for Best Art Gallery in Kent, which was great for an art collective and not-for-profit gallery to find itself amongst the county-wide finalists.

Guest artists
The Meet the Artists’ event on the first Saturday afternoon of every month has been a continuing great success. This is an enjoyable opportunity for artists and customers to socialise over a glass of fizz and cake and to admire the latest art in the gallery.

In July there will be work from three guest artists. New guest, landscape painter Jane Cannon, primarily works outdoors, painting and exploring Kent and more particularly the familiar orchards and views of the Bourne valley near Tonbridge.’ I respond deeply and almost possessively to this Kentish idyll, enjoying the wonder of a distant space in a panoramic view.’

Jane will be joining paper artist Christa Corner and ceramicist Jane Bridger, both based in Tunbridge Wells, whose work can still be seen until the end of July.

For August and September guest artists will include the painter Deborah Barr-Smith from Sundridge. Debra’s paintings are all about colour and mark making, with a playful, exuberant and uplifting feel. Ceramicist Gillian Highland will be bringing her reduction stoneware and Raku process pottery to Tonbridge and Gary Edwards will display his decorative and functional stoneware ranging from tiny pinch pots to one-off sculptural forms. So there will be plenty to look out for and celebrations to join in with as well.

ArtSpring is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, but viewings can also be arranged at other times to suit a busy schedule. Just contact the gallery to arrange a visit.
