Come the colder months, knitwear becomes the cornerstone of any well-dressed woman’s wardrobe. Yes, we know, knitwear for autumn/winter isn’t exactly new. In fact, you could even call it a staple – I mean, how else are you going to shield yourself against the cold British winds? Thankfully, however, the classic knit jumper has been given a modern and fresh update for AW18. Trust us. Cosy has never looked so chic.

Colour Block
The tonal and primary colour combos of this season’s knitwear has made this tricky to master trend easy-peasy autumnal breezy. A jumper patterned with large horizontal stripes or zig-zag patterns is the simplest way to rock this trend. Style with statement gold or silver jewellery, such as large hoops and layered chains, and a fitted skirt or slim jeans.

Pretty Pastels
Yes, you read that right. Our favourite spring shades are making a comeback this season. We weren’t lying when we told you AW18 styles are looking fresh this year. Think chunky-knit jumpers in cornflower blue, lavender and dusty pink. Layer with a simple blouse, leather skirt, black tights and ankle boots for a feminine twist on the autumnal biker-chic’ look.

Balloon Sleeves
Now, this is one of the trickier styles to pull off, especially if you are rocking few curves. Oversized-jumpers can quickly make you two sizes bigger, if not styled right. Layer an oversized jumper with balloon sleeves over a T‑shirt and high-waisted jeans. The jeans will hug your gorgeous curves in all the right places and make it evident that you have a womanly shape under all that wool.

Turtle Neck
We couldn’t not feature this autumn/winter essential. Perfect for keeping the autumn chill at bay and layering under jackets come winter, the turtle neck is possibly the most versatile piece of knitwear in your wardrobe. This year, channel your inner 70s diva by styling your turtle neck jumper with a cord mini-skirt, tights, boots and a baker boy hat.

Longline Cardigan
The longline cardigan is both elegant and casual, making it a must for any autumn/winter wardrobe – plus, the cut is ultra-slimming. Layer over a slogan or striped T‑shirt during the day, or wear over a midi-dress and accessorised with a scarf for an evening out.

Accessories
Knitted scarves, hats and gloves. These are the style pieces that will protect you against the bitter winter winds. Plaid is, without a doubt, the print of the season. Match a finely knitted scarf in a plaid print that complements the tone of your outfit. We’re loving the rich and festive shades of red/green, as well as the neutral shades of beige, cream and biscuit.
