What’s on my Easel this month?
I am currently finishing off a couple of images in readiness for the summer which are based on a circular motion of sprit and positive movement looking towards an optimistic outlook on where we are and what the future may hold for us.

The Southern Ocean is based on the challenges that face Round the World sailors as they battle the elements of the The Southern Ocean’. The light at the end of the tunnel must be an exhilarating sight after coming out of what must be the most frightening and dangerous challenges that anyone could face in order to achieve their goal. The sister work Circular Spirit’ was the original work that inspired the The Southern Ocean’ piece which was created in January as I tried to look forward to the year ahead and my annual optimistic search for the first signs of spring. The dark overwhelming negative feeling works toward the light and release from winters grip, never my favourite season, and my search for warmth and sunshine.

Print and Scanning Meanwhile while wearing my Fine Art Services’ hat I look forward to viewing the work of my artist clients to see what they have created over the winter months as I help and guide them on how we can prepare them for framing as well as scanning the images to prepare them for prints for the upcoming shows. My role as a printer very much uses my experience as a painter to help the artist achieve the very best presentation of their work as this is very much a collaboration of the artist and framer / printer working hand in hand to create a wonderful final piece that they can be proud of when revealed at the exhibition or gallery.

Etching
I recently purchased an Etching Press over the winter so that I can get back to my original training as a printer using traditional relief methods of print. I think it is a printer thing’, that the thought of getting ink on my hands alongside the smell of ink on paper that excites me.
I will be renting out the press for anyone that wants to use the press to produce their own handmade prints over the coming year. Use my contact information at the foot of this article to find out how you can use this service.

Framing
Since the beginning of 2019 I have officially taken on the production of fine bespoke bare wood frames for my customers and this is proving to be a very popular additional service. Working with wood, paint and stains is very satisfying.

If you would like to know more about my print, scanning, framing or etching services feel free to drop me an email or phone.
