Girls First: Encourage, Empower, Engage

Overlooking the English Channel, Roedean has been a beacon of excellence in all-girls’ education since 1885. Offering both boarding and day places for girls aged 11 – 18, Roedean empowers students to take charge of their learning, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones and realise their full potential.

At Roedean, we believe that an all-girls’ education is transformative. Free from gender stereotypes, our students are inspired to excel in STEM, lead with confidence, and pursue their passions without limitations. With small class sizes and specialist teachers, our students thrive in an environment which fosters intellectual curiosity, creativity, and excellence. Roedean girls develop the confidence to express their voices, along with the self-belief that anything is possible.

Our commitment to academic excellence is evident in our outstanding A Level and GCSE results (57% A*-A and 79% Grades 9 – 7 respectively) in 2024. With exceptional outcomes across a range of subjects, our students not only demonstrated academic success, but also resilience and diligence. These results reflect Roedean’s rigorous approach to learning, where each student is encouraged to reach her highest potential, and prepared and supported to succeed at top universities around the world.

Our holistic approach goes beyond academics. We engage students in a wide range of co-curricular activities, from Music and Drama to sports and community outreach, helping them grow into well-rounded individuals. Our unique Year 7 Wild Fridays programme cultivates a love for the natural world, while the Roedean Diploma encourages leadership, creativity, and social responsibility.

Roedean’s outstanding facilities, ranging from classrooms with a sea-view to our contemporary Sixth Form Centre, provide the perfect setting for learning, innovation, and personal growth. Coupled with an exceptional Theatre, a modern library, the Farm, and expansive sporting facilities, our students are sure to remain active and engaged.

We take pride in our strong sense of community, where every student matters and every voice is heard. With a diverse student body from across the world, Roedean fosters global awareness and cultural understanding. Our exceptional pastoral care ensures that our students’ emotional and social well-being is supported, empowering them to leave as confident, compassionate 21st century citizens, ready to make an impact on the world.

Roedean is not just a school; it’s a place where girls come first, where they are empowered, encouraged, and actively engaged in every aspect of their education. It’s an environment where each student is supported to discover her true potential.
