Heli Hike

Join air ambulance charity Kent Surrey Sussex Heli Hike and help raise vital funds

Registration is now open for the first Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) Heli Hike, taking place at The Friars at Aylesford Priory, Kent on Saturday 24 September. Open to walkers of all ages and abilities, Heli Hike is a sponsored walk, introduced to help life-saving charity KSS raise vital funds. Each year, the charity must raise £15.2 million to provide pre-hospital emergency care 247 to the 4.8 million people who live in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and 86% of its total income is raised through the generosity of KSS’s supporters.

The KSS Heli Hike features two routes, 7.5 miles or 3 miles, both starting and finishing at The Friars. Entertainment including live music and child-friendly activities will be available on the day, along with refreshments. There will also be an opportunity to meet members of the KSS crew and to find out more about the extraordinary work they do.

Lauren Simmons, Head of Events at KSS, said You will probably have seen our helicopter fly overhead as we race to the scene of a serious injury or medical emergency, but KSS is so much more than speed alone. When people are experiencing the worst moments of their lives, we bring the Accident and Emergency room to them. Our expert doctors and paramedics deliver life-saving care, in the rain, in a field, on the roadside – wherever it is needed.”

We are an independent charity and we rely on the dedication, support and donations from our communities to keep our crew in the air. On behalf of KSS, a huge thank you to each and every one of our supporters. We do hope you will join us at our first Heli Hike so that if someone you know needs us, we can be by their side, fighting to save their life, within 30 minutes.”

Everyone who takes part in Heli Hike will receive a special KSS Heli Hike t‑shirt along with a medal. For further information and to register visit the website.
