Junior King’s & The King’s School, Canterbury

With origins dating back to 597AD, The King’s School, Canterbury is reputedly the oldest school in the world. It is also one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools located in the idyllic surroundings of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral.

Junior King’s, the junior branch of King’s (for pupils aged 3 – 13), is a co-educational day school with full boarding from Year 5 upwards set in a stunning eighty-acre countryside location just outside Canterbury with most pupils moving on to King’s at 13

The schools pride themselves in their excellent pastoral care. Academic results take care of themselves when children are well-looked after, feel safe, and have the time to reflect on what they have done during the day.

The wide-ranging co-curricular programmes at both schools have been developed to provide opportunities for all pupils to discover their passions and encourage them to develop these talents as best as possible.

Junior King’s offers natural entry points at Nursery, Reception, and Years 3, 5, & 7 and welcomes enquiries for both day and boarding pupils. For children who leave a school at the age of 11, there is a well-established route of entry to King’s at the age of 13 via two years at Junior King’s.

Open Days, held each term, are an ideal occasion to explore the opportunities on offer at King’s and Junior King’s for your son or daughter.
