Hop Stitch and Jumper

This year, Symbol Family Support Services not only celebrated their 24 years of excellence in providing high-quality, cutting-edge services across the United Kingdom, to people with learning disabilities, but the innovative and inclusive family run business has also opened its second haberdashery store.

Hop Stitch 1

Launched by mother and daughter team, Tessa Branch and Florentina Dalton, The Hop, Stitch and Jumper has gone from strength to strength since its inaugural launch in Maidstone in 2016. Inspired by both a love of all things craft and a frustration about the lack of employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities, The Hop, Stitch and Jumper provides all-encompassing employment opportunities, whilst successfully selling high end haberdashery products, handpicked homewares and curated collectibles in a beautifully presented shop.

The brand new Tenterden shop, is also running courses and workshops for customers to learn new skills or hone those that already exist. From Learn to Knit, to Beginners Soft Furnishings, the range of courses cover a multitude of disciplines and abilities and are all run in the Tenterden store workshop.

Alongside The Hop, Stitch and Jumper, sits wellbeing store Celestine, a new venture for the company. Accessed from Sawyers Lane, Celestine provides a haven from the stresses of the outside world. The retail outlet provides a range of crystals, candles, essential oils, incense and teas alongside a treatment room, which offers a range of therapies, from aromatherapy to reiki.

We are delighted to bring The Hop, Stitch and Jumper and Celestine to the welcoming town of Tenterden. Furthering the aims of Symbol Family Support Services, this exciting development of The Hop, Stitch and Jumper will continue to provide a very special service for people with learning disabilities, their carers and families within Kent. The employment opportunities provided by The Hop Stitch and Jumper will enable individuals to enjoy the supportive community of Tenterden, grow in independence and experience exciting new adventures.” Tessa Branch, Managing Director of Symbol Family Supports Services
