Barentsz Gin

Barentsz Gin, the brainchild of Michael Claessens, has a unique and compelling brand story, with its roots firmly planted in Holland – where Michael is from. As a child he loved jasmine tea and decided to honour Captain Barentsz, the intrepid Dutch explorer. Thus Barentsz Gin, with its unique infused exotic jasmine flower, was born.

Dutch wheat and rye grain are distilled separately to create a smooth, superior taste on the palate and the signature botanical being the floral jasmine. Having won numerous taste awards – the ultimate test was with the Tasting Team at Harrods – where the Gin has been sold for the past nine months.

Since 2019, the gin has been available at 5* hotels and restaurants in London – Ivy Restaurants, The Brasserie of Light in Selfridges, Wolseley Restaurant, Bulgari Hotel, Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge, Harvey Nichols, Café Royal, and the Royal Warrant Goring Hotel – where they featured Barentsz as their Cocktail of the Month.

Now you can find Barentsz in Royal Tunbridge Wells too – where it’s stocked in Tripadvisor’s Best Gin Bar in the county – Chapel Place.

At the beginning of 2020, due to popular demand, Barentsz launched their second variant – Mandarin with jasmine.
