The Ice Cream of the Crop
The arrival of the summer months can only mean one thing, ice cream season is here. There’s little better way to cool down than with a delicious scoop or two of ice cream, especially so if it has been produced in Kent. With over 25 flavours to choose from, Solley’s Ice Cream is made on the family farm in the village of Ripple, near Deal, using Channel Island milk from the neighbouring farm. The farm and Ice Cream Parlour are open to visitors daily throughout the summer months, serving up delicious ice cream, sorbets and sundaes, both traditional and vegan, along with light food and drink options too.
One of the best-selling sundaes is the ‘Minty Moo’, which includes Solley’s Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream, finalist as dairy product of the year at this year’s Taste of Kent Awards. Available to buy at the Ice Cream Parlour, you can also recreate this sundae at home.
You will need:
- Solley’s Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream 750ml Tub
- Solley’s Chocolate Chip Ice Cream 750ml Tub
- Squirty or whipped cream
- Chocolate sauce or melted chocolate
- A flake to finish off
- A sundae glass (if you don’t have one, it tastes just as good in a bowl!)
To make the Minty Moo:
- Add one scoop of Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream
- Drizzle with chocolate sauce
- Add one scoop of Choc Chip Ice Cream
- Drizzle with more chocolate sauce
