Bedfordshire Beard Company have been providing handcrafted grooming products for gentlemen since 2014 – so they’re quite old for a beard company.

For review purposes they sent me their deluxe beard gift set which contains 30ml Beard Oil, 60ml Beard Balm, a Walnut Beard Comb, 15ml Moustache Wax, Mini Scissors, and 50ml beard wash.

I was informed that their beard balms contain a blend of the finest oils, butters and waxes to deeply condition the beard whilst giving a light hold. All balms are made inhouse and hand poured in small batches.

Finding a bearded volunteer was easy enough, he told me using it is simple: “Scoop out a pea sized amount of balm and massage it into your palms until liquified, then massage it through the beard ensuring to reach the skin underneath.”

Then I got to bury my face right into his beard. The elegant aromas are discreet, earthy and warm, with citrus spicy notes, and if you breath it in deeply you’ll get the black pepper that hits you in the back of the throat and fragrant patchouli — both are more evident in the beard oil.

The ingredients are top quality, so this is a bargain at £55 which is beautifully presented in a wooden monogrammed box with a brass clip, containing a glass bottle of aromatic and very masculine beard oil, a shower bottle of beard wash, aluminium tins of beard balm and moustache wax, scissors, plus a walnut beard comb. What’s not to love?
