Inspirational and artistic upholstery
Hastings based Bombarock can create some special interior spaces
Bombarock Upholstery and Design is a Hastings based business run by local artist Georgina Brett Chinnery who specialises in leather work.
Georgina launched Bombarock eleven years ago having moved from London after training at an upholstery school and finishing an apprenticeship at an antiques company in Surrey.
The business offers a wide range of services and covers all aspects of upholstery from traditional to modern for both commercial and private clients. Each piece is created from scratch and has its own unique identity and no two pieces are ever the same. Georgina uses both traditional and modern methods to re-upholster everything from chairs to table stools, ottomans and footstools to beds and headboards or even screens and bespoke bars.
Georgina particularly enjoys the more decorative side of upholstery, for instance buttoning and pleating which is testament to her creative and artististic nature. Most clients tend to provide their own fabrics, however; materials and finishes may also be discussed and sourced. The company has worked with a variety of businesses in and around Hastings providing work to all scales and has even been featured on a number of interior design programmes on ITV and Channel 4.
Georgina is currently working on re-upholstering the entire Mermaid Inn, Rye. Many happy customers return with new projects for their homes and Georgina continues to work with interior decorators to fulfil their clients briefs.
