Sharpen up for Valentines

Tidy Up
Even though this seems like the most logical thing to do, people sometimes forget about it. If you really want your space to look warm and inviting for your Valentine, you will have to clean it first.

Get rid of all that you do not need and make sure that everything is clean and spotless. Now is as good a time as any to say goodbye to unnecessary pieces of furniture too. Items in your house, living room and bedroom can be re arranged and moved very easily. Only after that is done should you start planning the details.

Valentine’s Day Without Candles?
One of the first ideas that come to mind when planning a romantic date in with your Valentine is to set the mood with scents and ambience. Try some scented candles or oil diffusers to make the air in your home smell nice. You can place them on tables, shelves, the floor, pretty much everywhere. Just be careful, and bear in mind the fire hazard!

Decorations
There are lots of ways to make big impacts in your home with not much effort. You don’t need to spend loads of money to show somebody that you care about them. Devoting some of your time and try to be creative, this will go a long way.

Here‘s a few ideas to get your creative thoughts flowing, and always turn to the classics if you are struggling for inspiration.

  • Rose petals laid on the floor through the hallways, carefully sprinkled on the windowsills, sink etc and of course the bedspread can do wonders for giving that movie set feel.
  • Balloons, some heart shaped balloons on the dinner table lifts the eyes and brings attention to different levels and shows effort from all angles.
  • Temporarily change the photos you may have in your photo frames to those of more intimate ones of you and your date/partner and ensure they are strategically placed.
  • Even by placing a fresh towel and dressing gown down on the bed ready to jump in a ready-made bath can do wonders for putting brownie points in the bank!

Flowers
Flowers must be the most renowned statement of valentine’s day and there is no reason why you can go overboard on these, can you really have enough flowers on valentine’s day?! You can decorate your space with flower vases, and of course you can even scatter some petals around if you want to go the extra mile.

Laying the table
Is Valentines even complete with out an intimate meal with your loved one. Over 95% of all Brits who have a partner will indulge on making the effort to eat a meal together on Valentine’s Day. Laying the table with your best cutlery, nice plates and setting it off with some flowers and perhaps a red tablecloth and balloons can do much more than just giving somewhere to eat, it can create the most eye-catching centre display of your decorations and displays your efforts well.
