Cowshed Workshop

Make, Create, Inspire. We can all benefit from a little creativity in our busy lives. Some time-out to enjoy an artistic pursuit has a wealth of benefits. Spending more time at home than ever before gave us plenty of time to be inventive with the resources we had to hand. Whether you rediscovered an old hobby or learnt a new skill, a creative outlet can enrich your life more than you may realise.

We’ve all heard the phrase think outside of the box’, to use imaginative thinking instead of traditional or expected ideas and as life brings plenty of challenges, creativity can help us approach matters in a new and resourceful way.

Research has found that just 45 minutes of creative activity can help stimulate the mind, relieve stress and anxiety and boost self-esteem. Occupy your mind with something enjoyable, focus your attention away from daily worries and be happy!

Taking the time to use our hands and be inventive gives us a great sense of fulfilment and achievement. The wonderful thing about art is that it doesn’t have to be an individual pastime it can be shared with others. With the greater desire to catch up with friends and family again, The Cowshed Workshop in Tenterden host several courses suitable for complete beginners and those looking to try something new, including ceramics, seasonal wreaths, basket making and willow sculpture. They are also running a kids cook & create course’ in partnership with @wildclassroomuk in the October half-term where both adults and children can get involved in a fun willow sculpture session and then head outdoors to cook a two course meal over the open fire.

Encouraging creativity from a young age won’t just boost your child’s chances of becoming the next Van Gogh but it’ll help them develop mentally, socially and emotionally. Plus you can decorate your walls with their masterpieces!

Located on the back lanes between Tenterden and Biddenden, the old farm workshop started life as an art space for the family, now it is a warm and inviting hub where people can learn, have fun and rediscovered their creativity. The Cowshed is passionate about supporting local artists, teachers and makers, creating a relaxed environment where course goers feel they can get creative, produce amazing pieces and share the experience with like-minded people.

We can all be creative, no matter how old we are and what a great talking point, to adorn your home with something you have created with your own hands.
