That’s Entertainment

Tunbridge Wells boasts an abundance of arts and entertainment events throughout the year, from theatre to comedy and from music to dance the Assembly Hall Theatre, The Trinity Theatre and The Forum are all hotspots for entertainment in the historic town, and over the next couple of months have some great performances and events lined up.

Me and My Girl
Let TWODS (Tunbridge Wells Operatic & Dramatic Society) whisk you away to the frolicking 1930s as they perform Me and My Girl at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells from 15 to 19 November 2022. Packed full of favourite songs from the golden age of musicals, this uplifting rags-to- riches show will have the whole family doing the Lambeth Walk’ in the aisles! When original cockney geezer, Bill Snibson, discovers he is the true heir to the Earl of Hareford, his newly-acquired aristocratic relations try to educate him in the ways of the gentry and separate him from his beloved Lambeth girl Sally. The result is comical mayhem between a host of hilarious characters, with toe-tapping songs including The Sun Has Got His Hat On, Leaning on a Lamp Post and of course Me and My Girl. With music by Noël Gay, based on the book by Arthur Rose and Douglas Furber and revised by the sublime Stephen Fry, Me and My Girl is an award-winning treat of a show for all ages.

Performances take place at 7:30pm from 15 to 19 November with additional matinée performances at 2:30pm on 16 and 19 November. Bucket collections will take place after each performance to raise funds for The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre in Tunbridge Wells. To book visit www.twods.org/book-now or call 01892 530613.
