Tunbridge Wells is alive with The Sound of Music!
TWODS Musicals are delighted to present the classic musical The Sound of Music, live on stage at The Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells from 28 October to 1 November. Join the spirited Maria as she re-awakens the love of music in widowed Captain von Trapp and his seven children — melting his heart along the way!

Set against the backdrop of the Austrian Alps, The Sound of Music is a beloved musical classic that brings joy, inspiration, and a touch of nostalgia to audiences of all ages. Featuring iconic songs written by acclaimed composers Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II; ‘Do-Re-Mi,’ ‘My Favourite Things,’ ‘Edelweiss,’ and the soaring title number ‘The Sound of Music,’ this production captures the heart and soul of the iconic movie masterpiece which premiered on the silver screen 60 years ago!
Hollywood legend Julie Andrews, who played Maria in the 1965 movie, celebrates her 90th birthday this month, and TWODS’ leading lady Imogen Smith is over the moon to bring the excitable novice nun to life on stage!

The Sound of Music was my late Grandma’s favourite film, so to step into the shoes of her favourite leading lady is such an honour!”

TWODS bring the West End hit Evita to the Assembly Hall Theatre from 26 – 30 May 2026, followed by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 17 – 21 November 2026.
