Visit the UK’s Largest Lavender Farm This Summer

Nestled in the North Kent Downs, only 20 miles from the centre of London, lie the Castle Farm Lavender Fields. Their patchwork of purple fields bloom from late June through until the end of July, creating the most spectacular vision.

Over 100 acres of this aromatic plant are distilled on the farm producing pure, high-quality Lavender Essential Oil which is used in aromatherapy, toiletries, perfumery and healing pharmaceutical products. Visitors can enjoy exploring the fields, immersing themselves in this sensory experience and learn about this amazing plant. Event tickets can be pre-booked online once released.

The farm shop is open all year (Tuesdays to Sundays), stocked to the brim with Castle Farm’s own lavender products, beef and local honey as well as seasonal strawberries, cherries, apples and pumpkins, gifts and decorations so there’s always something for everyone!

In season, visitors can enjoy the Lavender in several ways –

  • Guided Lavender Tours – go behind the scenes and learn all about different Lavender varieties and how we grow, harvest and distil the oil. Adults £12, children £6.
  • Lavender Walks – unguided time in one of the fields to take photos and enjoy the iconic view of the farm. Adults £4, children £2.50.
  • Lavender Picnic events – visitors can bring their own picnics (supplementing with our fresh fruits, local ciders and gin) and enjoy wandering through rows of over 60,000 of our most fragrant Lavender variety. Adults from £13, children from £6.50.
  • Lavender Wreath Workshops – Get creative and enjoy making a fresh Lavender Wreath in their fields. Details announced online.

Alternatively, just enjoy visiting the farm shop and taking in the atmosphere. Treat yourself to Lavender ice cream, cakes and chocolates, fresh-cut bunches and plants for the garden! Pick up a drink from their Coffee Cart and enjoy browsing the variety of Lavender gifts and toiletries.
