Welcome to the Autumn Issue

There is something about autumn that always feels like a fresh beginning. Perhaps it is the return to routine after the long, lighter days of summer, the first hint of cooler air in the mornings, or the gradual change in the landscape as greens give way to warmer shades of amber, copper and gold. Whatever the reason, autumn has a way of encouraging us to reset, refocus and look ahead.

Here at Aspect County, it is also one of our favourite issues of year.

Across Sussex, Kent and the surrounding counties, the season brings with it a renewed sense of energy. School’s welcome pupils back for a new academic year, businesses move into the important final months of the year, and our towns and villages begin to shift towards the cosy gatherings, events and traditions that make autumn such an enjoyable season.

Inside this issue, we have brought together another broad mix of stories, ideas and local interest. As always, our aim is to reflect the people, places and businesses that make this part of the country so distinctive, while giving our readers something enjoyable to sit down with.

You will find features celebrating local craftsmanship and heritage, inspiration for the home and garden, lifestyle and leisure ideas, and plenty of interesting people and businesses doing things a little differently. We also turn our attention to the changing season itself. A time for exploring the countryside, enjoying some of the region’s wonderful food and hospitality, and making the most of those crisp days before winter arrives.

One of the great privileges of producing Aspect County is the opportunity to discover stories that might otherwise go unnoticed. From long-established local names to newer independent ventures, there is a remarkable amount happening across our region, and we remain proud to provide a platform that celebrates that diversity.

After almost four decades of publishing, our connection with the communities we cover remains at the heart of what we do. We are enormously grateful to our readers, contributors and advertisers who continue to support the magazine and allow us to keep sharing these stories issue after issue.
